What are the requirements that I must have in order to get the 220 insurance license?

The 220 insurance license gives you the opportunity to have a highly paying profession in the insurance industry in the United States.

In order to achieve your goals, you must enroll in an insurance pre-license course approved by the State of Florida, where our insurance school is located, and -after taking this mandatory course- you have to sit for the state exam.

The 220 Insurance License enables you to work in a certified insurance agency. This is a  200 Hour Pre-License Course and, once you have satisfied the school requirements, you must sit for the state exam.

After having passed the exam, you must have your fingerprints taken and apply for your license by creating a profile on the official website of the State of Florida.

  • You must be over 18 years old,
  • you must be a resident in the State of Florida,
  • you must have a Social Security Number (SSN),
  • you must have a work permit,
  • you must be a US citizen or legal alien resident with a green card.

Unlike the 440 license, a license that offers customer representative status and that you can only use to work in an insurance agency as an employee, the 220 insurance license allows better job and investment possibilities.

When you get this license, you actually get both licenses: the customer service rep known as 440, and the general-lines insurance license known as 220. By getting the 220 you also get the 240 health insurance license, which -at this time- is in demand in this area due to the mandatory character of the Obamacare health plans.

Therefore, having all lines covered with this license, you can create your own agency and sell auto insurance, home insurance, business insurance, commercial insurance of any kind, liability insurance or civil liability insurance, as well as health plans through Obamacare and other HMOs or PPOs.
